Hard Dog Race WILD 2025

A more demanding and wilder variant of the HDR race, the so-called Wild. Originally planned for 12 km, eventually shortened to “only” 10 km + 22 obstacles, but still sufficiently demanding and simply HARD. After the overnight rain, the motocross track was one big muddy slide. Right after the start, it was a mega trickle down as if made to break every bone in the body. It required a lot of effort to persuade the excited dogs that we had to brake right after the start and slowly go down a few hills. Then various ups and downs, water, mud, obstacles and more water and more mud and so on and so on. As we already wrote, this was the first of two races that day, so due to this and the terrain we decided to run it slowly and just enjoy it for once. And we did – both we and our dog companions. It was great, but really challenging. That’s also why the minimum required age for participants in this race was 18 years old. This is no piece of cake, but a race for really fit individuals, both in body and soul. But Natalka is 14, but she really wanted to run it. So we asked the organizers for a “wild card”. We documented her rich running career and experience not only from obstacle races and provided guarantees that everything would go smoothly and, above all, safely. To our great joy, we received permission from the Polish and Hungarian organizers to start all together, including Natálka. We could enjoy it all the more as we crossed the finish line hand in hand. We were very surprised at the end, that even in a light pace we finished 7 + 8th among women out of 102 women, and Erik 16h out of 63 men. We also met our progeny Fayla Fury Niktel with our team member Jirka there. They finished 5th among men. Congratulations!
